The HI-981039 chocolate pH tester is a specialized meter for production processes. This meter offers many advantages including a specialized electrode and PVDF body.
pH electrode with replaceable electrolytic bridge
The electrode has an external cover that can be removed for cleaning. Once clean a small amount of electrolyte gel is added to cool the junction which improves the speed and stability of pH readings.
Low temperature glass bulb
The glass tip uses a low temperature (LT) formulation with a resistance of 50 Megohms, less than the resistance generated by a general purpose (GP) glass of 100 Megohms. This is beneficial when measuring foods at low temperatures as ion exchange is facilitated.
conical tip
This allows easy penetration into solids and semi-solids, essential in measuring chocolate.
PVDF body
The food grade polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) body makes the meter resistant to most chemicals and solvents, including hypochlorite. This material has high mechanical and abrasion resistance, in addition to withstanding ultraviolet radiation and is known to prevent fungal growth.
LCD screen
The integrated LCD display clearly shows the reading value and has stability, battery and calibration indicators.
automatic calibration
The specialized tester allows calibration at one or two points. Calibration buffers are requested on screen and automatically recognized to facilitate the calibration process.
On-screen indicators
An hourglass indicator will appear on the screen while stability is reached. Once the indicator disappears, the reading can be recorded. Other indicators such as the battery and the buffers in which it has been calibrated can be seen at the top of the screen.
Auto power off
The meter has the option of automatic shutdown, this has a default period of 8 minutes. It is possible to change this value to 60 minutes or disable it.
Long battery life
The testers allow up to 700 hours of measurement before requiring battery replacement. An indicator on the screen will alert the user.
