The Icom MA-500TR is a Class B AIS transponder specifically designed for non-SOLAS vessels such as recreational vessels, work boats, and small craft. It is capable of receiving two AIS channels simultaneously (Ch. 87B and Ch. 88B) and supports receiving information from both Class A and Class B AIS transponders. Accurate AIS Data Transmission and Reception
- The Icom MA-500TR automatically transmits vessel data at fixed intervals or under the control of a base station. Vessels can be easily identified by other vessels and maritime authorities, improving safety and efficiency of on-the-water communications.
Plotter Screen with Radar-Like Display
- The Icom MA-500TR features a plotter display that displays navigation information in North-up or Course-up orientation. The zoom feature allows viewing areas from 0.125 nm to 24 nm, providing navigation flexibility.
Early Warning System to Avoid Collisions
- To enhance navigational safety, the Icom MA-500TR features a CPA and TCPA-based collision warning system. If another vessel approaches within a dangerous radius, the vessel icon flashes on the display and an alarm sounds. The device can also be connected to an external audio system so the warning can be heard throughout the vessel.
Easy and Fast DSC Digital Calling
- When connected to a compatible Icom VHF radio, it can quickly make individual DSC (Digital Selective Calling) calls. Simply select a vessel from the target list and press the “DSC” button without manually entering the MMSI code.
Storage Up to 100 Waypoints
- The Icom MA-500TR can store up to 100 waypoints, making route planning easier. Additionally, the device features a MOB (Man Overboard) button that instantly marks emergency locations, making it particularly useful in marine rescue situations.
AIS Class A Security Message Reception
- This device is capable of receiving and storing up to 20 DSC messages from vessels with AIS Class A. These messages can be accessed at any time to monitor safety information that is important for vessel navigation.
3-Line NMEA Connectivity for System Integration
- Featuring a 15-pin D-SUB connector that supports 3-line NMEA Input/Output, the Icom MA-500TR can easily integrate with a variety of maritime navigation and communication systems, including VHF radios and other devices.
