Class B AIS Transponder with Wide Viewing-Angle Color TFT LCD Receiving both Class A and B AIS Signals

The Icom MA-510TR is a Class B AIS transponder that can receive AIS signals from both Class A and Class B units. It features a 4.3-inch wide-angle display, making it ideal for integration with shipboard navigation systems.

Automatic Identification System (AIS)

Your vessel’s AIS transponder will automatically receive information transmitted by other AIS-equipped vessels and watchtowers. The Icom MA-510TR can receive Class A and Class B AIS signals, enhancing your safety while sailing.

Big Screen

This high-resolution 4.3-inch TFT color display has a wide viewing angle, clearly displaying the position of your vessel and other vessels. Potentially dangerous vessels are marked in red, while vessels you’ve registered as “friends” appear in yellow. Day mode maintains readability in direct sunlight, while night mode ensures optimal visibility in the dark.

AIS Target List and Details

The “Target” screen displays all AIS-equipped vessels and objects that have been successfully detected. The “Danger” screen also displays a list of vessels within six nautical miles based on the Closest Point of Approach (CPA ) and within sixty minutes based on the Time to Closest Point of Approach (TCPA ).
The “Friend” screen displays AIS targets you’ve marked as friendly vessels. To view details, simply select a target with the cursor keys and press the [ENT] key.

Simplified Navigation

The navigation function guides you to your selected destination or AIS target. You can save up to 100 favorite points, such as fishing spots or other destinations, as waypoints . Navigation is easy by simply selecting a waypoint or AIS target on the display.

Navigate to Falling Person Point

When the [WPT/MOB] button is pressed and held, the MA-510TR automatically marks the coordinates of the current ship position and activates the navigation function to the location of the man-over-the-sea (MAN-over-the-sea) incident.

Individual DSC Call

You can send individual DSC calls simply by selecting an AIS target and voice channel on the MA-510TR.*
*Requires a compatible Icom VHF radio. The MA-510TR and VHF radio can be connected using an accessory cable. See each device’s manual for connection instructions.

Connectivity

AIS data can be output via the USB cable connector located on the back of the device.*
*A third-party application and additional connection cable are required to use this feature.

GPS antenna

A GPS with SBAS functionality is already connected to this navigation device. Positioning information can be easily received by simply connecting the built-in GPS antenna with a 10-meter (32.8-foot) cable.

NMEA 2000™, NMEA 0183/-HS

With the plug and play function of NMEA 2000™, the MA-510TR can directly connect to NMEA 2000™ networks, such as: external plotters, marine radars, and VHF radios. Meanwhile, NMEA 0183/-HS connectivity allows for connection with radios, plotters, marine radars, external GPS or switch switches.

Collision Alarm

When another vessel enters a CPA or TCPA zone, its icon will flash on the plotter screen and a warning sound will be heard. When connected to an external audio device in the wheelhouse or flybridge, this collision alarm function will still provide a warning even if you are far from the AIS.

Silent Mode

Silent mode will disable AIS transmission, temporarily blocking your vessel’s position. This feature is especially useful if you want to keep your location a secret, such as a favorite fishing spot. Even in silent mode, you can still receive AIS reports from other vessels.
